Postcard

Final Project Proposal
I chose to redesign the logo, create a business card, and postcard for a small local company called Lil’ Red’s Kettle Corn. Lil’ Red’s, whose actual name is Faith Lafredo, is a good friend of my mother’s. She used to be a travel agent and made kettle corn as a hobby on the side. Her friends all joked that the kettle corn was so good that she should sell it. Eventually Faith looked into it and long story short got a large kettle at home and began making it. The business took off faster then she imagined. She was selling it at local carnivals and fairs and even some grocery stores began to carry her kettle corn. At this point she decided to take it on the road. She bought a huge trailer so she can make the kettle corn right there on site at any festivity she attended. The aroma of the kettle corn attracts people better then a bag with the corn already in it.
However, I have always had a problem with her logo. I think it looks like a pot of gold more then a kettle of corn. So I decided to make her logo a little red headed girl just like Faith. I even put her hair in a braid, Faith’s style of choice. Making the logo took the longest to do, but once I did it, everything else came together quite nicely. I put Lil’ Red’s Kettle Corn’s new logo on the business card and both sides of the postcard. The more times a person sees it, the more likely they are to remember it. My intention is that this little girl’s face will be easier to recall then a boring kettle of corn that looks like a pot of gold. There’s no kettle corn in my new logo, but I think the name Lil’ Red’s can easily be recalled to match with a red headed girl. I intend on showing Faith what I have done and maybe she’ll consider changing it.
